Noteworthy Fashion: Inspired by Regina Spektor

Welcome to the first of many, Noteworthy Fashion posts! These posts will feature an artist or band who aside from producing wonderful music also have a great sense of style. This week’s stand out comes from the piano pop songstress, Regina Spektor! I’ve always loved her music and her unconventionally retro style! Read on to see three looks inspired by Regina!

Outfit Number One-“Us”

“Us” is without a doubt one of my favorite songs by Regina Spektor! Starting with a “contagious” piano riff, this song always reminds me of Summer. That also might have something to do with the fact that it was the opening song for one of my favorite movies 500 Days of Summer. Either way, this song is always on my summer playlists!

For a summery look, start with this adorable polka dotted dress, add white t-bar flats, and a bow embellished handbag. For accessories, I always imagine walking around the city or sightseeing with this song, so be sure to be ready for rain with this adorable umbrella, and ready for camera worthy moments!

Outfit Number Two-“Fidelity”

Oh Fidelity, this song has been one of my favorites since high school! How could it not be with the ever so catchy and trilling chorus!? The music video for this song is so whimsical with the black and white patterns to the colorful paint fight at the end of the song. It’s also my solo song in my college acapella group Noteworthy! If you’d like to see our version you can see it in this post I did on my spring concert.

Get the Look!

For this look it’s all about the classic combination of black and white. Starting with black tights, add a sweet Peter Pan collar dress, white and black pumps, pearl earrings and a locket.

Outfit Number 3- What We Saw From the Cheap Seats

Lastly, I have to mention Regina’s new album What We Saw From the Cheap Seats. If you’re a new fan or an oldie, this one is sure to impress, so check it out!

xFor a slightly military (and more sailor inspired) look, start with red button up shorts, a Peter Pan blouse and through on some leather ballet flats. For accessories anchor earrings are a must, a navy purse and if you’re daring go for a sailor hat! Or a navy bow!
