Trendy Tuesday: Va-Va-Velvet

x-2

As a little girl, every Christmas meant a matching velvet maroon dress with my two younger sisters! While I quickly outgrew the matching phase, there is something about velvet that works so well with winter for me. Read on for several sweet velvet pieces and looks that are perfect for any holiday party or winter event!

Outfit Number One

This first look features an adorable velvet skater skirt, that would be perfect tucked into a lace bow top. To complete the look layer some polka dot tights, retro pumps, a velvet handbag and vintage style earrings. (Don’t forget the beehive!)

Outfit Number Two

This second look is inspired by my good friend who always rocks her doc martens! Last week she paired a blue velvet blazer with high waisted shorts and a simple black tank top. For accessories go for the layering, with layered necklaces, and several fun rings.

Outfit Number Three

This look brings velvet to the office! Starting with a velvet peplum skirt, add an apricot lace blouse, black tights and top it off with kitten heels. For accessories accent the shirt with pearl earrings, a large handbag and victory rolls!

Outfit Number Four

This last look would be a perfect way to wear velvet out for the night! Starting with this adorable black velvet dress with gold lace accents, add wedges (tights if it’s freezing where you are). Play up the gold accents with a bracelet, dangling earrings and a handbag.

Would you wear any of these looks? What do you think about velvet? Do you have any other holiday trends? Let me know in a comment below!
