What to Wear There: Halloween Costume Ideas

I’ll never forget how excited I was as a child to flip through the Disney costume catalog and pick out my Halloween costume for the upcoming year! So whether you’ve been counting down the days to Halloween, or are just starting to think of a costume here are costumes that you can make from everyday clothing items! (Also feel free to check out my two posts last year on fun costumes to try! 1 & 2)

Betty Boop

Get the Look!

Oh Betty Boop, such a classic icon, that can easily be made into a fun and retro style costume! Starting with a fun red peplum dress like this one from Asos, add a pair of red pumps, gold bracelets and earrings and a garter if you’re daring!

Velma from Scoobie Doo

Get the Look!

Another throw back costume, would be Velma from one of my favorite cartoons Scooby Doo! Start with a red pleated skirt, an orange turtle neck, yellow knee socks and mary-jane flats. Don’t forget the fun glasses and curly bob!

Honey Boo Boo

Get the Look!

For something a bit more current, I had to include America’s favorite diva Honey Boo Boo! This costume would be super fun, with a pink tutu, a pink tanktop, a silver flower necklace, and pair it with a pair of frilly white socks and white shoes. Be sure to bring your tiara!

Katniss Everdeen

Get the Look!

Now this costume is super easy to make and super easy to transition to everyday looks! Starting with black jeans, a deep green t-shirt, add a pair of leather hunting boots and a jacket to complete the look. Top it off with arrow earrings, a leather bracelet, and the signature braid!
