Trendy Tuesday: High Waisted Shorts

While I’m truly a skirt and dress girl, I love my high waisted shorts. The cut and style of these shorts can add so much to a look and an outfit, and are a must have this season. Read on for, four different shorts, with fun and styled looks!

Outfit Number One

This look is sailor inspired, without looking like a Halloween costume. Starting with a pair of black high waisted button shorts, add a fun peter pan top, (super affordable from Forever 21!), and top it off with a pair of striped cap toe flats. For accessories keep with the nautical theme, with a fun purse, anchor earrings and a charm bracelet!

Outfit Number Two

If you already own a pair of high waisted shorts, try a bright color to bring a bit of a pop! I love these tangerine, flowy shorts, which would really stand out against a mint blouse. For accessories try neutral colored flats, with adorable tangerine and mint bows, and add a fun ring, bracelets and handbag.

Outfit Number Three

Get the Look!

This look shows how sophisticated high waisted shorts can be! I could see this outfit working at the office, a nice lunch with Mom or Dad, or shopping with friends. Starting with blush shorts, add a lace blouse, blush colored blazer, and woven white heels. To keep with the chic vibe keep it simple with accessories from pearl earrings, an envelope style clutch, and bracelets.

Outfit Number Four

Get the Look!

This last look captures the easy breeziness of high waisted shorts! Start with a classic pair of denim shorts like these ones from Topshop, and add a white fringe T-shirt, Steve Madden beaded sandals, and a floral satchel. For accessories, add a bit of a bohemian touch with earrings, rustic bangles and a hippie style headband.

What do you think about high waisted shorts? Would you ever wear them? If so, how would you style them? I’d love to know!

  1. I’m so glad that you like the looks! And wearing heels can be tough, I love pairing shorts with wedges or heavier pumps, to keep the look classy!
