As the school year winds down, high school girls across the country are dressing up for a wonderful night full of fabulous clothes, friends and fun. Now those of you who are going to a prom have probably picked your dress out months ago, but I thought it would be fun to share my pick of trends for this year’s prom season. Read on to see dresses from trendy to a new take on the classics!
This first look is trendy on so many levels! Starting with the color, this dress embodies the essence of ‘Tango Tangerine’, Pantone’s color of the year. From there the cut of the dress with a sweet heart neckline and fishtail hemline make this look fashion forward and fun! For accessories keep it calm with pearl pumps, clustered earrings and a simple clutch. For hair try a low bun in a knotted style.
Moving from trendy this look is straight out of the 1950’s literally! This adorable dress is vintage and oh so cute! From the color to the flowers, this dress is unique and so original. To keep from looking costume-y try a pair of mint pumps, a mint clutch and 1950’s earrings. For hair try a beehive!
This look is both ruffled and romantic, from the nude color palette to soft waves, this look would be perfect for anyone looking to not standout but truly shine!
Old Hollywood or the LBD
Now I know what you’re thinking…a bit costumey. I know I had to add the black gloves. But my dear friend Holly Golightly is too stylish to not model a prom look after her! Start with a classic LBD, add a statement pearl necklace and pumps.
A Bit Grecian
While this look doesn’t really scream Greek Goddess, there is something truly Mediterranean about the color and style of this dress. From the mint to the chiffon material this dress is easy, breezy and truly beautiful.
And lastly here’s a candid from my prom…I can’t believe it’s been so long! This week I’ll be watching my younger sister head to her prom and graduate from High School…where does the time go!?
