What to Wear There: The Gym

For those of you outside of the New England area, today is Marathon Monday! Aside from me not having classes, thousands of runners have flocked to Boston to compete in this 80 degree heat! At first I thought of writing a post inspired by the marathon….

But most of us, and I speak for myself, exercise for good health not to win any trophies! So this post will focus on several necessities that you’ll need to be cute and comfortable when working out!

For Your Feet

Get the Shoe!

Shoes are one of the most important necessities when working out, and while they can be on the pricier side, the high cost will ensure a good fit, quality materials, and a long lifespan. As a runner in high school I tried a few brands of shoes before finding the ones that I loved. Here are some of my favorite brands, but find the one that works for you! I love going to smaller local stores rather than a chain, simply because the people working truly get to know your stride, level of exercise and what shoe will be perfect for you!

Tops

Get the Tops!

For tops, I tend to go with tank tops in the summer, and I usually go for racer back style and ones made of breathable material.

Sports Bras

Get the Bra!

Once you pick out your top, it’s always good to choose the right, achem, support. From white, to colorful, to patterned, sports bras come in a variety of colors and sizes.

Bottoms

Get the Shorts!

As for bottoms, you can either go with shorts or with pants. For shorts, I love running shorts from Nike and Adidas, but Soffe shorts are also super comfy and come in a variety of colors!

Get the Pants!

For sweat pants, there are three standard types, sweat pants, yoga pants and cropped pants. Depending on what type of exercise your doing, and the weather in which you’ll be working out!

Sweatshirts and Jackets

Get the Sweatshirts!

On cooler days it’s always good to bring a sweatshirt to throw on after a good workout. These are just a few of my favorites, from comfy to sporty to a bit on the girly side, there’s one for everyone!

Work Out Accessories

Get the Accessories!

While jewelry and make up are not necessary for working out, here are a few fun accessories that will help make your work out more comfortable! From hair elastics, like these ones with bows, a watch, a gym bag to I-pod and Nike accessories you’ll be fit in no time!
