Downton Abbey is a show set on a fictional estate of the Earl and Countess Grantham. The show follows the lives of the Crawley family and their servants, before the first World War. The series is set into motion, upon the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, causing the Crawley women to attempt to find a suitable heir in a husband. The family struggle to keep their estate and title in the family, but look fabulous all the while. The women of Downton Academy are the picture of a prim and proper Victorian woman, with pastels, lace and gloves!

To achieve the look of 1916 and 1917, English style think lace, lots of lace! This looks is a bit on the casual side, featuring a dress and pair of boots from Modcloth! I simply love the way hat the boots lace up all the way, and how the brown matches the gray of the dress!
