Trendy Tuesday: The Best of the Grammys 2012

This year’s Grammys provided everything from beautiful soul singing, a tribute to a lost star, and an act with priest? Yet aside from all the performances, some stars were dressed to the nines, others dressed for disaster. Read on to learn how to recreate my favorite Grammy looks, and stay away from my least favorites!

Best Dressed

Katy Perry- Elie Saab

Katy Perry was easily one of the best dressed in my eyes! Her hair matched the gown perfectly, and completed with simple accessories and fun makeup, Katy looked like a star.

To get Katy’s demure and girly vibe, try a powder blue dress like this one from Modcloth, and pair it with a pair of nude pumps and matching jewelry.

Taylor Swift – Zuhair Murad

Taylor Swift went for gold, in this stunning, high collar mermaid fitted gown!

Get the Look!

To recreate her look, try a sequin top with a fitted black skirt, neutral pumps and a cute clutch! For jewelry try to keep it simple with a fun flower accent bracelet or a dangly pair of earrings.

Adele- Custom Giorgio Armani

Adele was the Queen of the Grammy’s last night! Not only did she perform stunning renditions of her hit songs, she rocked the red carpet in a sparkly black gown.

Get the Look!

To recreate Adele’s look, try a longer sleeved sequin dress, which pairs with silver shoes, earrings and of course bright red lipstick!

The Worst Dressed

Anne V

Girlfriend to Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine, Anne V was showing off more than anyone should at the Grammy awards. We get it, you’re a VS super model, but no one looks good in a barely there tunic dress.

Nicki Minaj

Now Nicki Minaj is always a bit well out there when it comes to her fashion choices. Usually I think she rocks the avant garde and strange looks, but this one was just too much. She look a bit like a little red riding hood, but channeled Medusa with the embroidery on the dress. And what was up with her date?

Fergie

Don’t get me wrong, I love the cut, color and the way this dress fits Fergie. The lack of a lining and her black granny panties, not so much. When talking to Ryan Seacrest on the carpet, Fergie stated that this dress was the ‘less extreme’ of her two choices…which makes me wonder how outrageous the rejected gown must be!?
